Inch by Inch review

Inch by Inch, the indie shrinking game.

My thoughts on the game:

  • Good physics.
  • Distinctive.
  • Range of difficulties.
  • Enjoyable gameplay.

Design:

This is a unique design, with low-poly models and a basic ghost white material for all of the models. It is a calming colour, if you were stressing about making the formula this really soothes the mood.

Gameplay:

I like the gameplay in Inch by Inch, it’s intense because you’re against the clock but if you don’t beat it, you’re tiny. Along with the range of difficulties there is also a change in formulas, for example you might have to microwave strawberry jam and the next round you’d have to mix it with water.

This is a good game, I recommend you try it.

Of Guards and Thieves review.

From the developers of Gearscape and Cuboid sandbox; Subvert Games brings the stealth game, Of Guards and Thieves.

My thoughts on the game:

  • Great graphics, pushes Unity.
  • Friendly community.
  • Addictive.
  • Great gameplay.
  • Action-packed.
  • Lively Discord Server

Design:

Personally, I haven’t seen many games like this. It has a cartoon-like style and has a lot of potential; it just needs attention. The leveling up system does take a while but is worth it as you can unlock different unique characters throughout.

Gameplay:

In Of Guards and Thieves there are 15 gamemodes to chose from, my favourite being “VIP Escape”. The maps are differents from each other and there are many different ways to approach enemies as a Guard or a Thief.

I recommend this game, yes.

Firewatch Review

My personal views on Firewatch:

  • Beautiful, stunning scenery
  • Short storyline, but mysterious
  • Intriguing mysteries

After playing for almost 3 and a half hours I was hooked, I wanted to find out more about the story and what would happen next. I believe it was on my second adventure I found Turt Reynolds, a little happy turtle. Then the story got pretty dark, found something you really wouldn’t see in a game and adventured lots. The game is pretty much revolved around walking/jogging; and a damn lot of it but considering the map is quite small props to Campo Santo for making it as beautiful as it is.
